Marshall Crenshaw (natural November 11 1953) is an American singer, songwriter & guitar player.

Crenshaw was innate inside Detroit, Michigan, and grew up in the nearby suburban area of Berkley. He began swimming guitar at age x, & had his number 1 break swimming John Lennon in the off-Broadway company of a musical theater, Beatlemania. By okay, sleep in Future York, he processed one for Alan Betrock's Dislodge Records, "Something's Gonna Happen," which led to his existence signed to Warner Brothers Records. Robert Gordon took Crenshaw's "Someday, Someway" to #76 inside 1981, & Crenshaw's version mass produced #36 a next month. Marshall Crenshaw, his foremost album, was acclaimed as a pop masterpiece upon release, telltale Crenshaw as a foremost-ace songster, singer & guitar player. His 2nd album, Field Day, sported the somewhat heavily healthy which displeased a bit of attender, however Field Day is regarded by several critics when Crenshaw's better album, & one of a classic power pop statements, although Crenshaw's work, prefer Alex Chilton's, transcends the genre. "Some of the stuff I've done you could call power pop," he told an interviewer. "But the term does have sort of a dodgy connotation."

Although Marshall Crenshaw hwhen never sold tremendous many records, he enjoys a reputation as one of the finest songster of the era, by owning roots around classic soul music, British Invasion songcraft, Burt Bacharach and Buddy Holly--to whom Crenshaw was often likened in the early times of his career, & whom he portrayed in the 1987 film La Bamba. He continues to record, & within 1999 processed one of his better albums, #447. Around 1994 he published the book, ''Hollywood Rock: The Remedy to Rock 'north' Roll in the Film.
